Sunshine Coast Surf Lifesaving Championships – The Aussies

The beautiful pristine Sunshine Coast is hosting the 2016 Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships, also known as “The Aussies” which was first held at the famous Bondi Beach in March 1915.

This event has become one Australia’s major surf lifesaving events with participants traveling from far and wide to participate. The 2016 annual competition will be held from Saturday 16 to Sunday 24 April 2016 at several beach side destinations around the Sunshine Coast including Maroochydore, Alexandra Headland and a selection of Mooloolaba beaches.

Event organisers have listed the following events to be held at these Sunshine Coast destinations;

> Maroochydore SLSC – Water event

> Alexandra Headland SLSC – Lifesaving and Surfboats

> Coolum Beach – Board riding (dependent on suitable surf break conditions – back up location Alexandra Headland south of surf club.

>Mooloolaba SLSC – Beach events
